Moving Hatteras: Relocating the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse

Updated 4th Edition now includes a list of Cape Hatteras keepers 1803-1939 and the Keepers of the Light Amphitheater. Some said it couldn’t be done, but America’s most famous lighthouse was successfully moved to save it from the approaching Atlantic Ocean’s tides and rising sea level. The authors worked closely with the team of movers and park historians to create this illustrated guide to the relocation process.
