TITLE: ABRAHAM LINCOLN

SIZE: Continental- Approximately 5-7/8" x 4"

CAPTION: This is the portrait that appears on the present five dollar bill. It, like the penny portrait, was taken by Anthony Berger, Matthew Brady's assistant, on February 9, 1864. The signature is a facsimile from the Bliss Manuscript of the Gettysburg Address; it is a departure from his usual habit of signing "A. Lincoln." Courtesy of the Library of Congress.
