TITLE: ESOPUS MEADOWS LIGHTHOUSE Hudson River, New York SIZE: Modern (5-7/8" x 4-1/8") DESCRIPTION Completed in 1871, this Mid-Hudson lighthouse is the only one on the Hudson River construced with a wood frame and wood siding. The purpose of its location was to warn mariners of the mudflats, the Esopus Meadows. The lighthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and has been nicknamed "Maid of the Meadows."
