TITLE: Whitefish Point
CAPTION: WHITEFISH POINT LIGHTHOUSE - Oldest active light on Lake Superior began in 1849. (Present tower was constructed later.) Early a stopping place for Indians, voyagers and missionaries, the point marks a course change for ore carriers and other ships navigating this coastline. Located a few miles north of Paradise in Michigan's Tahquamenon region.
