DESCRIPTION High on its' outcropping of rock and ledge, Bass Harbor Light marks the entrance to both Bass Harbor and Blue Hill Bay. Built in 1858, its' beacon flashes red on a four secon interval and is visible up to 13 miles. A gray sky fortells the approach of a snow laden nor'easter.
