TITLE: Coquille River Lighthouse
SIZE: Continental, approximately 15cm X 10.5cm
DESCRIPTION Coquille River Lighthouse: Established in 1896, the lighthouse has saved many ships from the treacherous shallows of the Coquille River. Many considered the bar at th emouth of the river the most dangerous on the Oregon coast. The brick/stuccoed white conical tower and black round lantern room, 47 feet above sea level, housed a small fourth-order Fresnel lens which was deactivated in 1939.
